Your Guide to Pittsburgh Pride 2024!

We’re so excited to celebrate Pittsburgh Pride! This year, Pride in our city will be celebrated primarily from May 31st to June 2nd with a variety of events across Pittsburgh that start even earlier. 

To avoid any confusion, please keep in mind that there are many events throughout Pittsburgh this year that all share the name and celebration of Pride. Here are the official websites for each.

In this blog, we’ll outline all the events across the city and let you know which one’s we’ll be at so you can come say hi!

But first… a little gay history!

dating back decades. From the early days of activism to the first Pride parade in 1973, Pittsburgh has been at the forefront of the fight for equality.  The first Pride parade began with 50 attendees and by the end, had 100 people total. They began at Market Square and walked 3 miles to Schenley Park. By the 90’s, the activism and grassroots efforts within the PGH community began drawing larger crowds to Pride. Today, Pride continues to be community centered: the community marches first, then allies, then sponsors at the end.

Don’t forget to support the following local organizations throughout Pride and all year: 

QBurgh, an online magazine that provides the LGBTQ+ community with news, events, and resources across PGH.

Proud Haven, a non-profit organization that offers help to LGBTQ+ teens and adults experiencing housing insecurity.

Trans YOUniting, an organization that provides support, crisis housing, and food assistance to the transgender community in Pittsburgh.

QMTY Center, a community that offers youth and drop-in events, job search help, and more resources for the LGBTQ+ community.

Sunday, May 26th

Bigger Gayer Picniq: (12-7 p.m., Showtime 3-4 p.m., TICKETED, 18+): Enjoy a picnic buffet at Allegheny Commons Park West highlighted by a drag queen extravaganza starting at 3 p.m. with featured performers Judas Elliot & Mykul J Valentine, Trista Storm, Akasha L. Van-Cartier and more.

Thursday, May 30th

Too Hot For July: The annual FREE HIV awareness event is hosted by AIDS Free Pittsburgh. As 2024 marks the 43rd anniversary of the first official report on HIV/AIDS, TH4J will honor those lost to HIV/AIDS while celebrating the advancements in prevention and treatment that can end the epidemic.

Friday, May 31st

Pittsburgh Pride Opening Celebration: AKA Pride in the Park, the Official Opening Celebration.  2-8PM @ Allegheny Commons Park West. Featuring 30+ local artist, a headlining performances by The First Ladies of Disco, and an opening act by #1 Beyonce’ impersonator in the USA: Riley Knoxx.

2024 Kiki Ball: 9PM-1AM, FREE! The fun of the first day of Pride continues into the wee hours with The Alphabet Mafia, a vibrant celebration rooted in Black and Latinx LBGTIA+ communities focused on showcasing their resilience and creativity.


Pride on the Shore Day 1: PGH’s LGBTQ+ Music Festival is back! Tickets are required. Friday’s performances include: Hannah Rad, Keke Palmer, Jojo Siwa, Natasha Bedingfield, Kitty Glitter, and more.

Saturday, June 1st

Pittsburgh Pride March & Parade: Line up and gathering begins at 10 a.m. on the corner of the 11th Street and 16th Street in the Strip District. Parade begins at 12PM sharp! All individuals are welcome to march in the Pittsburgh Pride March and Parade in support of LGBTQ+ rights. No registration is required. Come march together as a united community. Speakers will begin at 11:30 a.m. and the parade kicks off at noon and ends at Allegheny Commons Park West.


Pride in the Park Day 2: 2PM-9PM @  Allegheny Commons Park West. Featuring headliner Riley Knoxx and incredible performances and appearances throughout the day including Matty Malloy, PRP CHLD, Miss Black Pennsylvania USA 2024, MZ Judy, Renaissance City Choir and more.

Sunday, June 2nd

Pride Festival Closing Block Party: 2-8PM @ Bloomfield near Trace Brewery & COBRA. The day features live entertainment, food, and activities, marking the conclusion of Pittsburgh Pride 2024. 30+ local artist will hit the stage alongside special performances by co-headliners; Manny DiBiachi (Hip Hop), Heading North (Rock Band), and the Be Gay (Do Crime) Drag Collective, setting the stage for the main event featuring, TikTok viral sensation The Real X Man.


Pride on the Shore Day 2: PGH’s LGBTQ+ Music Festival is back! Tickets are required. Sunday’s performances include: Jaesyun, The Scarlet Opera, Matt Suave, G Flip, Jessica Wild, Xunami Muse, Local Queens + Kings, Kaleena Zanders, Slayyyter, Jess Glynne, Chappell Roan,
