Highland Park
AT A GLANCE
The name Highland Park is inclusive of both a 380-acre park found tucked away off the Allegheny River and the larger residential area that surrounds it. The park itself contains two water reservoirs, tennis courts, a swimming pool, sand volleyball courts, walking trails, children’s playgrounds, a fenced-in dog park, and serves as a beautiful reprieve from the city life. The park also contains Pittsburgh’s Zoo & Aquarium.
Small Shops + Boutiques
The residential area that surrounds the park is filled with many large older style homes with varying building techniques, providing a diverse and architecturally fascinating neighborhood for residents and visitors. Highland Park has a small business district surrounding Bryant Street, which contains several popular local eateries including one of Pittsburgh’s best restaurants, Joseph Tambellini’s, and widely regarded coffee shop, Taza D’Oro.
